      Using isopropyl alcohol as a solvent and n-nonanol as an internal standard, the content of free formic acid and free acetic acid in cigarette smoke was qualitatively and quantitatively determined by GC/MS. The precision and the accuracy of this method were also determined. RSD of the method was less than 2% and recovery was better than 97%.
